A Minute on Women’s Reproductive Freedoms
As we learn of the suffering caused by the new laws restricting abortion, our hearts are collectively broken. Access to safe abortion has been a constitutional right since 1973, with the Supreme Court decision on Roe v Wade. But we remember how women suffered before 1973, and we know these tragedies will return.
We are people of faith. As Quakers, one of our key testimonies is for equality. We believe we are all equal in the sight of God. Thus, no one should be denied health care because of their gender. We believe that abortion is an essential part of health care for people in their reproductive years. Read more…
